Jon Lovegren, Head of Autonomy, Wisk

As Head of Autonomy, Jon is responsible for overseeing Wisk’s autonomy program and leading the engineering efforts, as well as the certification strategy for autonomy. Jon is also responsible for developing autonomy partnerships, as well as fostering discussions with national and international agencies and organizations to help progress our efforts and build mutual understanding regarding the safety and needs for autonomous flight. Jon has spent over a decade building highly talented teams and developing the flight critical software and algorithms that enable various types of vehicles to fly--all without a pilot. Most recently, Jon led flight software and simulation development at Vahana, an Airbus-backed eVTOL autonomous air taxi demonstrator. Prior to that, Jon led the flight controls and software team at Airware, building a flexible autopilot platform powering a variety of commercial fixed wing and helicopter UAS. Jon is passionate about aviation and is an airplane, helicopter, and paraglider pilot.
